Every year, Australian school students are impacted by bushfires, floods, cyclones, storms and other disasters. The consequences of these events have far-reaching impacts on their lives.
Have you, your school or your community been involved in preparing for, or recovering from a natural disaster? Have you got a bright idea for teaching students about disaster events and how they can prepare? We'd love to hear from you.
A great example is the partnership between the Lara Fire Brigade and Lara Primary School. Students at Lara were so motivated by their engagement with the Fire Brigade through the Brigades in Schools program, that they decided to make a video to help other students learn key disaster messages. You can watch the video above.
